Make sure you keep this design rule top of your mind when picking out accessories and wall décor. In many cases, these items will fall in the 10% accent colour category. If your accent colours are beginning to overwhelm your space, however, don’t hesitate to implement décor that uses your dominant or secondary colours as well.

While it’s true that too many accessories can lead to clutter and chaos, it’s equally true that a lack of décor can make your space feel hollow, clinical, and bland.
